On December 15, the Japanese automaker added a G version for the new generation HR-V, adding choices for customers. The G version costs 699 million VND and becomes the cheapest version of the HR-V line, next to the L (826 million) and RS (871 million). The price of HR-V is equivalent to the middle version of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. In addition, this segment also has Mazda CX-3, Nissan Kicks, MG ZS.

The biggest change of the G version compared to the L and RS versions is the naturally aspirated 1.5 engine instead of the 1.5 turbo. With this engine, the car will have a capacity of 119 horsepower at 6,600 rpm, maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The car will not be as powerful as the two versions with more turbochargers.

The car still uses a CVT gearbox, front-wheel drive. On combined road conditions, fuel consumption is at 6.74 liters/100 km according to the manufacturer’s announcement.

In addition to engine changes, HR-V G retains the same equipment and safety features as the two high versions L and RS. The overall design has not changed, but the Japanese automaker tweaked the length of the G version (4,330 mm) to be 55 mm shorter than the L and RS versions because its front bumper is shorter, without affecting the chassis. Ground clearance is increased by 15 mm at 196 mm.

In the cabin, the HR-V G installs an analog clock under the steering wheel, while the two higher versions use a 7-inch digital display. Felt seat are used instead of leather. The rearview mirror is no longer automatically anti-glare. USB charging ports are also reduced from 3 ports to 1. HR-V G is equipped with the same safety features as the two high versions with the Honda Sensing system.

With the addition of version options for the HR-V at a competitive price, Honda expects to increase sales competitiveness with competitors in the same segment, especially in front of the dominance of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
