As the most expensive model in the segment, Honda HR-V now adds a G version for affordability but trades off much equipment compared to the L version.

According to information from a Honda sales consultant in Hanoi, this dealer has started accepting deposits for the new G version Honda HR-V. As expected, the car may return by the end of this month or January 2023. Prices have not been disclosed but is said to be relatively cheaper than the L version. The current HR-V L costs 826 million VND. The more advanced RS version costs 871 million VND.

According to the initial disclosure, the HR-V G 2023 will have fewer equipment compared to the L version, such as leather seats changed to mechanically adjusted felt seats, leather steering wheel changed to urethane steering wheel, analog clock combined with a small screen, single exhaust pipe… Some modern equipment is retained like LED lighting, LED taillights, central 8-inch screen, automatic air conditioning, and a smart key with remote ignition.

The G version may use a 1.5L engine, but is naturally aspirated, not turbocharged like the L or RS versions. This engine is the same as on the City, for a capacity of 119 hp, 145 Nm of torque, combined with a CVT.

Another equipment package that may not be available on the HR-V G is Sensing, which includes many advanced safety features such as collision mitigation braking, adaptive automatic throttle, lane departure recognition, lane keeping assist, front vehicle departure announcement, and smart headlights. This is also one of the equipment that makes the HR-V superior to competitors like Creta or Seltos.

The new generation Honda HR-V launched in Vietnam from June 2022 with 2 versions L and RS. In the old generation, the car was sold with 2 versions G and L. With this addition, the HR-V has 3: G, L and RS.

The big change on the HR-V 2022 comes from the interior and exterior design, which is almost unrelated to the old generation. The interior of the HR-V is quite similar to the new City and Civic. In terms of equipment, this edition has more technologies, especially the Sensing package, LaneWatch feature on the high-end version.

Honda HR-V is not a good selling model in the segment. From the beginning of the year to the end of October, sales of this model reached 1,930 vehicles. Seltos sales were 10,983 vehicles. The cumulative sales of Creta is 8,982 vehicles, but this model has only been sold since March 2022. In recent months, the Creta has been the model that often leads the sales charts.
