According to the plan, by 2030, CO2 emissions will be reduced by 46% compared to 2019 and towards carbon neutrality by 2050.
Honda Vietnam (HVN) has recently announced its commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2050 and achieving zero traffic collision deaths by 2045. To achieve carbon neutrality, HVN is focusing on energy-saving measures and developing clean energy sources.
In 2023, HVN plans to implement a roof voltage system with a total capacity of 8MWp in its factories in Vinh Phuc and Ha Nam. This system is expected to reduce the use of national electricity by over 7.5 million kWh per year. HVN is also conducting research to increase engine efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions in their motorcycle products. The average fuel consumption of Honda motorcycles currently stands at 1.9 liters of gasoline per 100km. Additionally, HVN is exploring electric vehicle products tailored specifically for the Vietnamese market.
In the automobile segment, HVN is actively transitioning to hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) models. They have announced plans to introduce several environmentally friendly automobile products in Vietnam in 2023, including a hybrid car model, possibly the CR-V PV model.
To achieve the goal of zero traffic collision deaths by 2050, HVN is implementing traffic safety activities under the 4E scenario:
By striving to be carbon neutral and promoting traffic safety, HVN aims to contribute to a sustainable and safer future for Vietnam.
