On August 25, Honda Vietnam (HVN) has just released a press release to launch a completely new model for the Vietnamese market. Accordingly, HVN will officially release the all-new 2021 Honda SH 350i premium scooter from September 22.

It is known that Honda SH 350i 2021 is a completely new model, born to replace Honda SH 300i. Remarkably, the new model to be sold in Vietnam is the surprisingly affordable at a starting price of 145.99 million VND for the Premium version, while the Sport version will be sold for 147,99 million. In which, the High-end SH350i has 2 color options, White and Red, the SH350i Sport version has only one color option, Dark Gray.

This price is completely surprising to many people because the old generation of Honda SH 300i had a listed price of up to 279 million VND, double the current gen’s price. However, according to Honda’s announcement, the reason the Honda SH 350i 2021 has such a good price is that the scooter has been assembled and manufactured in the country. In other words, units no longer needs to be imported CBU from Europei. The fact that Honda Vietnam put the Honda SH 350i on the domestic assembly line is a strategic step to help reduce the cost of the vehicle, thereby increasing the vehicle’s competitiveness with rival Vespa GTS 300.

According to information published by HVN, the Honda SH 350i was developed with a focus on “appearance” and “modern technology”. First, the Honda SH 350i has a high-end scooter appearance, bearing the same design language as the Honda SH 150i sold in Vietnam. Therefore, it features a supreme design. The headcover is inspired by the headlight surface of a scooter integrated with a luxurious horizontal LED strip.

Meanwhile, the headlight cluster is arranged below the mask with a beautiful multi-dimensional box shape, inside is an LED lighting system with high lighting performance. Unlike the Honda SH 150i with a glossy chrome mask, the two sides of the Honda SH 350i mask are textured details connecting the headlights with the turn signal lights, creating a beautiful and luxurious monolithic overall. Meanwhile, the LED taillights are decorated with chrome splints as accents.

In terms of equipment, the Honda SH 350i 2021 is developed on a sturdy new frame system, reducing weight and ensuring a comfortable sitting position for customers. Smart Key system is equipped as standard.

The set of gauges is a negative monochrome digital LCD screen, providing sharp display of information. Other safety features worth mentioning are traction control system to prevent wheel slip after accelerating, ABS, and a hazard warning light system when braking sharply.

The suspension system includes a telescopic front fork with a diameter of 35 mm fork and a double shock absorber at the rear with an Oleo-Link cast aluminum swingarm to support the steering feel and the ability to absorb force. Coming with the suspension is a set of 16-inch cast wheels. Standard tires are 110/70 and 130/70, respectively, for front and rear tires.

The utility of the vehicle can be mentioned as a storage compartment equipped with a convenient USB Type-C charging port, the ability to connect the scooter to a smartphone via Bluetooth signal, and the Honda + management application. Connecting the vehicle to a smartphone allow users to check call and message notifications right on the gauges.

The heart of the Honda SH 350i is the eSP+ engine block inherited from the Honda Forza 350. Specifically, this engine block has a single-cylinder setup, 330cc in capacity, SOHC, liquid-cooled, electronic PGM-FI. This equipment gives the Honda SH350i 2021 a capacity of 28.8 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and maximum torque of 31.8 Nm at 5,250 rpm.

This new eSP + engine has been applied many technologies to reduce friction such as hydraulic boosters, pressure-reducing pumps, deflection cylinders, rollerblades, and belts with the new structures. Engine power enhancement comes from improvements such as increased throttle and intake valve diameters, steeper intake and straight exhaust ports, and larger cylinder and piston diameters. Finally, the crankshaft has high rigidity and is lightweight The valve opening and closing time and valve opening are also optimized. All improvements and upgrades in the engine help the Honda SH350i have good fuel economy, smooth operation and still ensure strong engine power.
