Honda Vision prices continue to reach 50 million VND, a difference of VND 14 million from suggested

Despite strong purchasing power and high prices for Vision, many Honda dealers are refusing to accept deposits because they no longer have enough inventory.

The motorcycle market at the moment is quite emphatic due to the high shopping demand. Currently, Honda has limited the supply of domestically produced scooters due to lack of input materials. This makes the price of Honda motorcycle products being pushed up quite high by dealers. Most recently, the actual price of Honda Vision at dealers continued to increase, approaching VND 50 million.

Specifically, according to a survey at a number of Honda motorcycle stores, the Standard version is being offered for sale at 41 million VND, 11 million VND higher than the suggested retail price. More notably, the Personal Vision with Smart Key is offered for sale at 48 million VND, nearly 14 million VND higher.

Although scooter prices are at a very high level, many consumers are still willing to spend such amounts. However, that alone can not help consumers own a unit right away because a number of major Honda dealers have announced out of stock and stopped accepting deposits.

A salesperson at a Honda dealer said that the store’s inventory is currently empty, and it is not clear when the next batch of motorbikes will be available at the dealership, so many sales staff have stopped accepting deposits and invite customers to refer to other Honda products that are still available.

Not only Vision, but many other Honda scooters such as SH, Lead, or SH Mode are in a state of costing up to tens of millions of VND. The high-end scooter model SH is currently being offered for sale with a channel price of up to 25 million VND, while two mid-range scooter products, Lead and Air Blade, also have a difference of about 3-5 million VND from the proposed price.

The shortage of Honda scooters was predicted in advance, especially since Honda Vietnam published a press release about limiting the supply of domestically produced scooters. In addition, the Japanese automaker also said that the situation of limited vehicle supply would also continue in the next few months because the input of materials is still unstable due to the impact of Covid-19.
