Hyundai Accent starts off year gracefully with approx 2,400 units sold in January

With such sales, Hyundai Accent has a chance to become the best-seller of January 2022.

Sức bán của Hyundai Accent chỉ giảm rất nhẹ ở tháng đầu năm 2022.

According to sales results announced by TC Motor, in January, a total of 7,428 Hyundai cars were sold in the Vietnamese market, down by 24.2% compared to December 2021. However, this is a 22,6% increase over the same period last year. In which, Hyundai Accent continues to be the best-selling product with sales reaching 2,398 vehicles, only a slight decrease of 5% compared to the previous month, while it achieved a growth of 33.3% over the same period in 2021. As a result, Hyundai Accent will most likely be the best-selling car model in Vietnam in the first month of 2022 when heavyweight competitor VinFast Fadil only sold 1,401 units.

Last month, TC Motor’s second best-selling model was the Hyundai Tucson. With the launch of a new generation at the end of December 2021, this C-size crossover had successfully attracted the attention of users. The car achieved extremely positive results with 1,256 vehicles sold, an increase of 12,4% month-on-month, a whopping breakout of 201.3% over the same period last year.

The remaining models in TC Motor’s product portfolio all recorded decreases. Normally, the first month of a new year is the low season for the Vietnamese auto market because most customers had bought a car in December to prepare for the Lunar New Year. Of course, as cars manufactured and assembled domestically are preferentially reduced 50% of the registration fee by the Government, the market’s consumption in January has decreased but not as heavily like other years.

In addition, it is worth noting that the Hyundai Santa Fe recorded a steep fall in sales for January 2022, not because this mid-size SUV is unattractive, but due to shortage of stock that prices went up by 100 million VND. Specifically, in January, Santa Fe models with VIN 2022 (production year) were officially distributed. In which, the high-grade gasoline and oil versions were adjusted to increase the price by 20 million VND, but were very much sought after by Vietnamese customers thanks to the newly added Smart Cruise Control system. Even at the present time, these two versions of Hyundai Santa Fe are still being sold at price differences ranging from 20 to 50 million VND depending on dealers.
