Hyundai Custo 2021 promises to bring a new smart mobility experience to families.

Hyundai Custo is a mid-sized MPV model that was first revealed on the test track last April. After a year, Hyundai has released the first official images of Custo.

Custo will be manufactured by the Beijing Hyundai joint venture in China. At the same time, this is also the MPV sample of this joint venture. Hyundai confirmed that Custo will bring a new smart mobility experience to families in China.

Belonging to the mid-sized MPV segment, the Hyundai Custo 2021 has a length of 4,950 mm, a width of 1,850 mm, a height of 1,734 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,055 mm. Compared to the Kia Sedona (5,155 mm x 1,995 mm x 1,775 mm, wheelbase 3,090 mm) this MPV model is slightly smaller.

True to the leaked images, the Hyundai Custo 2021 applies the new design language of Hyundai, similar to the Elantra, Tucson, and Santa Cruz. This is clearly shown through the front design of the Hyundai Custo 2021.

Specifically, at the front of the car, this MPV model comes with a large borderless grille. The grille connects to the slender headlights on the sides. In addition, just above the headlights and grille, there is a chrome-plated brace embossed with the model name “Custo”.

Similar to the new generation Hyundai Tucson, the Custo 2021 also has a “Parametric Hidden Lights” daytime naviagtional LED strip mixed into the grille. As the name suggests, this LED strip will only appear when turned on, at other times it is hidden.

Meanwhile, on the front bumper, there is a trapezoidal front fog lamp socket with chrome trim. In addition, the central air cavity is narrower but elongated.

On the side, the Hyundai Custo 2021 is designed more like an SUV than an MPV thanks to its high chassis and black body brace. However, the car is still equipped with sliding side doors like traditional MPVs.

Behind, the Hyundai Custo 2021 comes with a “C”-shaped taillight cluster, connected by a LED strip in the middle. In the middle of the taillight is a braille stamp “Hyundai” rather than the brand’s logo.

In addition, according to images taken on the test track, this MPV model also has a panoramic sunroof divided into 2 pieces, a rearview mirror with a side-mounted camera and different types of wheel rims with different designs. That’s not to mention the fake silver underbody panels below the front and rear bumpers.

Inside the Hyundai Custo 2021 is a 6-seater or 7-seater interior space, depending on the customer’s choice. To be specific, the 6-seated version has 2 business seats located separately from each other in the middle row. The middle row of seats also comes with 2 air-conditioning vents and a separate AC panel.

In the cockpit, this MPV model is equipped with a sports flat-bottom steering wheel like the new Hyundai Elantra and Tucson. Meanwhile, the center console employs a vertical infotainment screen and a gearshift button instead of the traditional gear lever.

In terms of operation, the Hyundai Custo 2021 is expected to use a turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.5L and 2.0L. The maximum power of these 2 engines is 170 horsepower and 236 horsepower, respectively. The engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Currently, Hyundai has not announced the launch date of the new Custo. However, the release of these teaser images of this model proves that Custo will be available in markets very soon.
