Hyundai Elantra 2024 launched with design tweaks and more safety equipment

06 Sep 2023

The C-size sedan has upgraded its design, added equipment and safety features, and will be sold from the second half of 2023.

On August 30, the Korean automaker unveiled the 2024 Hyundai Elantra, a refined upgrade featuring enhancements in both aesthetics and technology. Positioned within the same segment as its rivals, including the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis, Kia K3, and Mazda3, the Elantra aims to captivate discerning customers with its improvements.

The most striking alteration is evident in the grille, now divided into two distinct sections, exuding a more distinctive personality compared to its predecessor. The LED daytime running lights have been slimmed down, adding to the modernized appearance. For the performance-oriented Elantra N variant, Hyundai has also tailored the grille, steering wheel, door sills, and rear wing. This high-performance version boasts 19-inch wheels clad in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires for enhanced road grip.

Beyond the exterior transformations, Hyundai has introduced four new color options, namely Ecotronic gray, Ultimate red, Amazon gray, and Exotic blue, providing customers with a broader range of choices to suit their preferences.

Inside the 2024 Elantra, several refinements await, such as the instrument cluster hosting a new 4.2-inch screen. More advanced iterations, starting from the SEL trim and above, are equipped with a larger 10.25-inch screen. The front door cover has been softened, enhancing the tactile experience. Additionally, the wireless charging cluster has been redesigned and a USB-C port has been added for convenience. The Limited edition boasts H-Tex leather seats, offering a touch of luxury. Both the N-Line and Limited models feature an 8-speaker stereo system for an elevated auditory experience.

In terms of safety, the upgraded Elantra introduces new technologies as standard across all versions. Rear side airbags and rear seat belt reminders enhance passenger protection. Furthermore, haptic feedback integrated into the steering wheel brings lane-keeping assist, blind-spot collision warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Limited variant takes safety a step further with the inclusion of a surround-view monitor, blind spot view, and front/rear parking distance warning. The second-generation digital key lock supports compatibility with Apple and Android devices. Other tech features include WiFi connectivity and a 6-speaker audio system.

For the high-performance Elantra N, meticulous attention to detail shines through. Enhanced elements such as stiffer bushings and brackets for the engine and suspension contribute to its dynamic capabilities. Moreover, a new calibration for the electronic suspension control system and electric power steering ensures an exhilarating driving experience.

The anticipated release of the Hyundai Elantra 2024 is slated for the end of the second quarter, with pricing details set to be announced closer to the launch date.
