Hyundai has released photos of the Exter’s front-end design, with some details similar to its recent global products. The car is manufactured for the Indian market as well as exported abroad, according to Autocar Professional.

However, the overall Exter’s front end has a special application from the brand’s Sensous Sportiness design language, with two-section headlights and H-shaped LED daytime running lights. The formula seems to go in the direction of SUVs, much like the next-generation Santa Fe.

The LED light cluster is located on a dark background, and unlike the prevailing trend, there is no light strip extending all the width of the front of the car. The grille section – where the quadrangular headlight cluster is located – is black and also extends squarely to the sides. The car also has a faux silver chassis and glass door borders similar to the Venue and Casper.

Overall, the front end of the Exter is more like the electric model Ioniq 5 than the Venue, Creta or Alcazar. The new crossover even has a 2D-printed Hyundai logo on the bonnet, like in the Ioniq 5.

It is expected that the Hyundai Exter is about 3,800 mm long, the same chassis platform as the Grand i10 Nios hatchback, but the ground clearance will be greater and the suspension may also be different, if only slightly. The crossover can be powered by a naturally aspirated petrol engine 1.2 with 83 horsepower like the i10, Aura, i20 and Venue. Transmission options can include a 5-speed manual and AMT.

However, unlike the i10, the Exter could add a second engine option of 1.0 turbo. This will help Exter increase its competitiveness with rival Tata Punch. In addition, the third option is a CNG gas engine that may appear later. CNG is a particularly popular fuel in the Indian market and compressed air is Another alternative to electric vehicles to reduce emissions.

Hyundai will announce more information about the Exper in the upcoming time, before its launch in August. The price is expected to be slightly higher than the i10 ($7,000-10,400) and lower than the Venue ($9,400-16,000).
