On June 29, 2022, Hyundai officially unveiled a completely new electric car model called Ioniq 6. This is the second model of the Ioniq brand under Hyundai Group, after Ioniq 5. At the same time, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is also considered the successor of the mid-size sedan Sonata that is about to be discontinued.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 is the commercial version of the Prophecy concept car launched in 2020. Compared to Prophecy, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 possesses an overall design style that is quite similar. Of course, some design details have been modified to better suit as commercial vehicles and meet safety standards.

Also developed on the basis of the E-GMP platform exclusively for electric cars of Hyundai Group, the Ioniq 6 has a wheelbase of up to 2,995 mm. In addition, the car also has a coefficient of air resistance of only 0.21 Cd, lower than the Hyundai Ioniq 5. This is thanks to the smooth exterior design, aerodynamics, with sexy curves.

At the front, Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 is equipped with a matrix LED headlight cluster with a pixel-shaped LED strip. The headlight area is separated from the front bumper by a black stripe going across. Meanwhile, the front bumper is mixed with 2 colors and integrates a narrow central air cavity in the middle. Right below the central air vent, there are 6 small lights, used to indicate the vehicle’s battery capacity.

Round to the side, we will see the roof sloping back in the style of a coupe and the door handles are sunk into the body. In particular, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 is also equipped with a digital camera instead of the traditional rearview mirror. These details help reduce the coefficient of air drag for the car, which is very important for electric cars. The lower the coefficient of air resistance, the further it can travel. In addition, there are alloy wheels with complex multi-spoke design and 2-color paint.

The rear design of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 will probably make many people feel familiar. This is unsurprising because the rear is quite similar to the Porsche 911, especially with the whale tail rear wing.

Here, we can see the pixel-shaped LED taillights. Right above the taillights is a rather small “Ioniq 6” braille stamp and the rear spoiler. Hyundai also equipped another spoiler connected to the rear door glass for the Ioniq 6. This spoiler integrates an impressive 3-dimensional LED strip, which acts as a brake light.

Then comes the vertical reflector that is also designed in the form of pixels on the rear bumper. Similar to the front bumper, the rear bumper of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 is painted in 2 colors and has a design that resembles a diffuser. In addition, this sedan also applies Hyundai’s new aluminum logo on the front and rear.

Stepping inside the Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023, users will once again feel like they are in contact with a car from the future. According to Hyundai, the interior of this sedan employs the style of a cocoon to bring comfort to users. On the dashboard, the car is equipped with 2 screens connected into a block, including the digital dashboard and the infotainment screen, with the same size of 12 inches. Besides, there is a sporty steering wheel and air-conditioning vents that extend all the way to the dashboard. Located at either end of the dashboard are a pair of small screens to display images captured by an external digital camera.

The highlight inside Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 lies in the 64-color border light system with six 2-color combinations to suit the mood. First applied to Ioniq 6, Hyundai’s pixel-based interactive light system will display a variety of information according to the vehicle’s status such as charging, starting, shutting down, or giving voice commands.

Furthermore, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 has an armrest on the door with a downward sloping design instead of the traditional straight line. There are no buttons on this armrest. These buttons have been moved to the center console. This freeing up space helps Hyundai to integrate more storage compartments on the door.

The interior of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 will use many environmentally friendly materials, such as recycled paint made from waste tires. There are currently no pictures of the rear seats of the car. However, thanks to the large wheelbase, the new Hyundai is expected to bring a very spacious rear seat for passengers.

Unfortunately, the engine specifications of this pure electric sedan have not been announced. According to rumors, the car will be equipped with a powerful electric motor of 225 horsepower and 350 Nm in the rear-wheel drive version. Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive version of the car will use 2 electric motors with a total capacity of 320 horsepower and maximum torque of 605 Nm. In addition, Ioniq 6 is also rumored to use a 77.4 kWh battery pack, providing a travel range of nearly 500 km after every full charge. The car will support 800V fast charging system.

As planned, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 will officially debut to the public at the Busan Motor Show taking place this July in Korea. Currently, the price of Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 has not been revealed.
