Hyundai Stargazer is Hyundai Motor’s first small-sized 7-seat MPV. It is the result of a thorough research process, from design, technical equipment, and optimal comfort to the study of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian markets.
Currently, Hyundai Stargazer is imported CBU from Hyundai Indonesia factory and will soon be produced in Vietnam in 2023.
Youthful bold exterior
Regarding overall design, Hyundai Stargazer proved quite daring when the windshield was designed with a seamless bevel with the bonnet extending throughout the whole car. This makes for a very good aerodynamic design. Wind resistance coefficient of the car reaches only 0.32Cd, the lowest in the segment. At the same time, this design gives the car a unique futuristic style.
The Hyundai Stargazer has dimensions Length x Width x Height respectively 4,460 x 1,780 x 1,695 (mm) with a ground clearance of 185 (mm). The car is inspired by the design of the Staria MPV with a prominent front end, full-width LED light bar. At the bottom is a rather large separate designed full-LED headlight cluster that occupies most of the car’s front bumper. There is a large rectangular grille; the bumper has an X-shaped design with trapezoidal front air vents.
On the sides, Stargazer owns square wheel arches, modern alloy wheels with a size of 16-inch Diamond Cut and tire size of 205/55 R16, optimized for a smooth operating feeling. At the rear, the taillights form a triangle, combines with the rear windshield, and connected by an LED light bar to form a giant mobile H logo. The vehicle is also equipped with LED overhead brake lights, helping to ensure safe signaling when operating on the road.
Other notable highlights include Chrome-plated door handles with smart lock/close buttons, rearview mirrors with integrated turn signals, etc.
Interior comfort and luxury
Hyundai Stargazer has the largest 2,780mm wheelbase in the segment. This size helps the car provide a comfortable interior space, is arranged with convenient equipment in a scientific way, optimal for all 7 seats.
The model also has the best second-row seat space in the segment with a ceiling space of 1,056mm, legroom of 1,014mm, and a seat width of 1,445mm. This allows 3 adults comfortably sit on long trips.
The third row also impresses with the ceiling space of 961mm, legroom of 867mm, and seat width of 1,344mm. This size also helps 2-3 adults get a comfortable space.
In addition, the rear door width reaches 900mm, the front door has an opening angle of up to 71 degrees, the best in the segment, helping users access the car easily. Storage space when folding the third row of seats reaches 585L and reaches 200L when using all 3 rows of seats. This space is the largest in the segment, making it easy to store the necessary items on trips.
Hyundai Stargazer is a pioneer in the segment with Qi-standard wireless phone charger integrated with a cooling system that improves capacity up to 10W while reducing phone overheat during charging. It is also the first car in the segment to support Apple CarPlay/Android Auto wirelessly. At the same time, there is high-end Bose sound system with 8 speakers and a separate amplifier.
The car is equipped with leather seats, providing comfort and dust-proof during long-term use. Leather details also appear in combination with high-quality plastic materials in the cabin to help increase elegance. The car dashboard features a multi-information screen and a 10.25-inch multi-function touch screen in the center, integrated with a reversing camera.
Hyundai Stargazer is equipped with a Start/Stop button and Smart Key. Other features include remote start function via button on the key. This function helps the driver to cool the car before operating, reducing the uncomfortable thermal shock when parking outdoor in hot conditions like in Vietnam.
The automatic air conditioning system with fast and deep cooling, combined with air vents for the rear seats placed on high, provides a comfortable space for all 3 rows of seats. The car’s steering wheel integrates buttons to control settings, change music, and receive calls to ensure convenience and safety when operating.
Stargazer takes special care of each seat on the car when all seats have USB charging ports and storage trays, providing the most comfortable space in the segment. In total, there are up to 31 places to store items for passengers on the vehicle.
Superior engine and high-class safety equipment
Hyundai Stargazer distributed in Vietnam is equipped with a naturally aspirated gasoline engine, a new Smartstream G 1.5L engine, with a capacity of 115 horsepower at 6,300 rpm, maximum torque of 144 Nm at 4,500 rpm. This engine block is equipped with dual injectors, integrated intelligent thermal management system, CVVT smart cam technology and variable pressure pump. The car’s combustion chamber is also optimized for an appropriate compression ratio, helping Stargazer to be the most powerful in its segment while ensuring fuel economy.
The car drives the front wheels through an iVT (intelligently variable transmission) developed by Hyundai. The iVT stepless transmission is improved from the conventional CVT, which will help to overcome the disadvantages of CVT (slow response, noise, sliding of the iron belt) and still maintain the pros (smoothness, fuel economy, agility in the city).
Hyundai Stargazer is fully equipped with leading safety technologies: ABS, BA, EBD, ESC, HAC, traction control system, VSM, and 6-airbags.
The Korean model is developed on Hyundai Motor’s latest K2 platform. This platform was introduced to the market since 2016, applied to small car models, optimized for 3 rows of seats. Stargazer’s chassis system is made using the exclusive AHSS tempered steel technology, combined with the reinforcement of the bearing positions with specialized materials, helping to increase rigidity and better resist torsion. This maximizes passenger protection in the event of a collision according to current leading safety standards such as NCAP while still helping to reduce vehicle weight and optimize operating costs.
In addition, Hyundai Motor’s SmartSense intelligent safety system is also equipped on Stargazer. This system uses the front camera and a dedicated processor to identify the traffic situation and provide timely assistance to the driver to ensure safety. In Vietnam, Hyundai Stargazer is distributed by Hyundai Thanh Cong with 4 versions (Standard, Special, Premium, and Premium 6 seats), and 5 option color options: White – Red – Black – Silver – Metal Gray. Vehicles are warranted for 5 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
