According to Hyundai dealers, Venue is about to be sold at the end of 2023 besides Custo and Palisade making their debut in the Vietnamese market. Hyundai’s high ground clearance segment in Vietnam will range from small (size A) to large (size E) featuring the following names respectively:  Venue, Creta, Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade.

Hyundai Venue is a global product of the Korean automaker, sharing its platform chassis with its sibling model – Kia Sonet . Global sales of the Venue mainly come from India, accounting for around 70% of the market share.

Hyundai Venue has a dimension of 4.040 mm in length, 1.770 mm in width and 1.585 mm in height. Similar specifications of Toyota Raize are 4.030 x 1.710 x 1.605 mm, with a wheelbase of 2.525 mm. Sonet’s ones are 4.120 x 1.790 x 1.642 mm, with a wheelbase of 2.500 mm.

While Sonet has a youthful-oriented design, Hyundai Venue possesses a more subdued design. The equipment configuration and distribution method for this model in Vietnam is currently unknown.

Hyundai offers various engine options for the Venue. Depending on the specific market, the car has options such as a 1.2-liter petrol engine, a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine or 1.5-liter diesel engine with power of 83 hp, 120 hp and 116 hp respectively. The vehicle’s manual transmission options include 5-speed, 6-speed or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic one. Additionally, there’s an option that is a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a power of 121 hp.

In Vietnam, the competitor Kia Sonet, assembled and distributed by Truong Hai, uses a 1.5-liter engine with a power of 113 hp. About Toyota Raize, this model is equipped with a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine with a power of 98 hp.

Venue’s appearance provides Vietnamese customers more choices in the low-cost high ground clearance segment, which is attracting many car manufacturers. The trend of shifting from A-size hatchbacks to SUVs of the same size is gradually becoming more popular in Vietnam. Following Raize and Sonet, the market also welcomed VinFast’s purely electric VF 5 Plus. Smaller than these models are the Hongguang Mini EV that is already on sale and the VF 3 that will be launched next year.

Venue is not the smallest SUV model from the Korean automaker as there are also the Exter and Casper.
