Kia’s most discounted models are Sorento, Sportag and Mazda’s ones are CX-3, CX-30 models, with the rate of tens of millions VND.

Promotions for cars are maintained by automakers and dealers in September when the demand for purchases still did not become vibrant despite registration fee incentives for assembled cars. Mazda, in particular, is offering the most significant discounts on the CX-3 and CX-30 imported models, which do not qualify for the reduced registration fee (according to Decree 41, which only applies to locally assembled cars).

Specifically, the Mazda CX-3, with price ranging from 569-646 million VND, is being discounted by 10-20 million VND depending on the trim level. Meanwhile, the CX-30, priced ranging from 709-749 million VND, is getting a 45 million VND discount for both versions. The CX-8 Premium and Mazda6 2.0 Premium are slightly reduced by 5 million VND.

In terms of Kia, prices across several products are being reduced simultaneously. In particular, gasoline variants of the midsize SUV Sorento are being discounted by 35-75 million VND, depending on the trim level, which is equivalent to a 50% reduction in registration fee. Diesel variants of this model are also being discounted by 45-50 million VND depending on the trim level. As for the hybrid plug-in version of the Sorento, the discount is 35 million VND.

The second most discounted model after the Sorento is the Kia Sportage, with discounts ranging from 10-60 million VND depending on the trim level. The K3 model, which has seen a significant decline in sales in the first 8 months of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, is also being offered promotions across all trim levels. Discounts for the K3 vary between 26-30 million VND.

The cheapest Kia model, the Morning, is being offered discounts of 15-27 million VND depending on the version. Models such as Carnival, Sonet, and Seltos are receiving more modest discounts of 5 million VND. All Kia vehicles are assembled locally, so in addition to the manufacturer’s cash discounts, customers can also enjoy a 50% reduction in the registration fee when purchasing these vehicles.

Kia and Mazda’s price reductions are not unique in the market. Rivals such as Mitsubishi, Toyota, Hyundai, Subaru, Volkswagen, and others are also offering widespread discounts of tens of millions of VND to stimulate demand.

By the first 8 months of 2023, Kia sold 24,120 vehicles, a 45% decrease compared to the same period in 2022. Mazda sold 20,256 vehicles, which fell by 18%.
