Kia’s CUV model will be launched in June under 5 versions, 3 engine options, expected price at 900 – 1.1 billion.

Kia sales staff informed that these are the expected prices only. Official prices may not change or if there is, it will be different by only 10-20 million VND.

The car has 5 versions, including three 2.0 petrol engines, one 2.0 diesel engine, and one 1.6 turbo petrol engine. These three types of engines are identical to the Hyundai Tucson. These two models inherently share the same platform.

The 2.0 petrol engine produces 154 HP and 192 Nm of torque using a 6-speed transmission to drive the front wheels. Meanwhile, the 2.0 diesel version produces 183 horsepower and 416 Nm of torque, but uses an 8-speed gearbox that is also front-wheel drive. For the 1.6 Turbo version, using a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and AWD, the powertrain produces 177 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque.

With the Signature versions in the table above, there will be an optional X-line package for 10 million VND cheaper. For example, 2.0G Signature X-line will cost 999 million VND. Currently, Kia Morning is a model with X-line and GT-line bodykit options.

With this price, Sportage will be higher than Hyundai Tucson (825 million – 1.03 billion) and Mazda CX-5 (839 million – 1,059 billion), only lower than Honda CR-V (998 million – 1,118 billion).

In terms of equipment, Sportage will have an electronic handbrake, a 360-degree camera, sensors around the car, a 12.3-inch central screen; knob-shaped gear lever is for diesel and turbo versions.

The Signature version will have additional heating, cooling front seats and active safety package, adaptive automatic throttle, blind spot sensors, lane keeping assist and warning, blind spot camera…

The vehicle has a length x width x height of 4,660 x 1,865 x 1,700 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,755 mm, and a ground clearance of 190 mm. With this size, Sportage has an advantage in the segment when it is larger than most of its competitors in terms of length and height. Sportage ground clearance is 8mm more than Tucson.

It is expected that the car will have 6 colors, be assembled in the country, and will be handed over after the launch. However, according to dealers, due to the lack of components, the number of available units was few.

Kia’s car shortage is happening for most models, causing many dealers to hesitate in taking deposits. Some even refund deposits for some models such as Kia Seltos and Kia Carnival because of low inventory.
