In Vietnam, Kia Telluride 2023 will be a competitor of Ford Explorer in the large SUV segment.

At the launch event of the new generation Kia Carnival last October, THACO representative revealed the plan to introduce the large SUV Telluride in the Vietnamese market. It seems that the launch date of Kia Telluride in Vietnam is right around the corner.

According to rumors, Kia Telluride 2023 will be officially launched in Vietnam this October. The price of which will be about 2 billion VND. If this price is correct, the large SUV from Korea will be significantly cheaper than rival Ford Explorer (2.366 billion VND).

It is likely that the upcoming Kia Telluride 2023 in Vietnam is an upgraded version launched in the US market in April earlier this year. For this version, the model still possesses the same design, including a length of 5,001 mm, a width of 1,989 mm, a height of 1,750 mm, a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, and a ground clearance of 203 mm. Thus, this model has a wheelbase 125 mm shorter than Ford Explorer.

Although it is only an upgraded version in the middle of the life cycle, Kia Telluride 2023 has significantly changed in exterior design and interior equipment. Accordingly, this large SUV model comes with a new front-end design with an improved grille and vertical LED headlights, integrated with LED daytime running lights. Next is the new front bumper with thick metal rims surrounding the central air cavity and the front fog lights with 4 rectangular LEDs. In addition, at the two corners of the front bumper, there are vertical air vents.

On the side, Kia Telluride 2023 has new door steps and rims. Meanwhile, the overall design of the chassis remains unchanged.

At the back, this large SUV comes with vertical LED taillights like the old version, but the interior shape has been refreshed. Similar to the front bumper, the rear bumper is also improved in design, integrating thick panels and new reflectors.

Stepping inside the Kia Telluride 2023, drivers will see some notable new details such as a large curved screen, located independently on the dashboard. This detail is a combination of a digital dashboard and an infotainment screen, both of which are 12.3 inches in size. Because of this addition, the dashboard and steering wheel of the car have also been redesigned accordingly.

In the US market, this large SUV model has quite a lot of equipment such as electric trunk door with automatic closing feature, digital rearview mirror inside the car, digital lock technology that allows the driver to open/lock the door with a watch or smartphone, and WiFi system can connect to 5 devices at the same time. In addition, there is a software update feature over WiFi and a map using real-time information.

The next highlight of Kia Telluride 2023 is safety equipment such as a traffic sign recognition system and intersection collision avoidance, or a navigation-based cruise control system.

The heart of this Korean SUV is a 3.8L V6 petrol engine with a maximum capacity of 291 horsepower and maximum torque of 355 Nm as before. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a standard or optional 2-wheel drive system.

In addition to the 2023 Telluride, THACO is expected to launch another new model in Vietnam this year, the Sorento plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that is more fuel-efficient.
