In September, in the A-class hatchback segment, only Hyundai i10 and Kia Morning had significant sales. The single unit of Brio sold is in the dealer’s inventory. The company has stopped importing new stock and it is not clear when to return to distribution; Toyota Wigo is also facing this situation.

1,124 vehicles delivered to customers in September is the second highest sales since the beginning of 2022 of Hyundai i10. This model is assembled and distributed by TC Motor (under Hyundai Thanh Cong). The rival of i10 is one assembled and sold by Truong Hai, Kia Morning.

Morning had modest sales in September with 124 cars. Cumulative from the beginning of the year, Kia’s model sold 3,578 cars, equal to about half of Hyundai i10’s, 7,864 cars. Although it has been discontinued, only fulfilling confirmed orders and not accepting new ones, VinFast Fadil ‘s sales as of August (no data in September) still led the segment. VinFast model sold 10,661 cars from the beginning of 2022.

After many years of facing competition from Japanese rivals, the lowest-priced car segment now remains only Korean models. Hyundai i10 is having competitive advantage over Morning.
