Thanks to the abundant supply, dealers offer about 50% discount on registration fees for the C, E, and GLC lines to run sales in December.

With the Mercedes C-class priced at VND 1,699-2,399 billion, the 50% discount helps to reduce the cost by about VND 85-120 million if customers buy a car in Ho Chi Minh City (10% registration fee). In Hanoi, this figure is larger due to the 12% registration fee.

Applied with the most advanced versions of the Mercedes GLC, the E-class costs VND 3,129 billion, the rolling cost is reduced the most by 187 million VND.

Many Mercedes dealers offer registration incentives, but there are also dealers who offer discounts directly on products, with a value of about 7-11% of the car price. For example, the E200 model costs VND 2,099 billion, the highest reduction is about VND 230 million.

According to the sales staff, this is the largest stimulus program in 2022 implemented by dealers. The supply of Mercedes cars in 2022 is mostly in short supply, customers have to wait 1-2 months to receive assembled cars, 3-6 months for imported cars. Currently, the supply of both assembled and imported Mercedes cars is abundant.

Information that the State Bank will increase credit room by 1.5-2% from December 5 is forecasted to stimulate demand for automobiles in the near future. Dealers, therefore, want to boost sales for the last month of 2022 before Mercedes prices increase in early 2023, by offering incentives and discounts.

Aside from Mercedes, other brands from the segment has no discount programs. Mercedes is currently the company with the richest product range and the largest market share in Vietnam. The company has a factory in Go Vap and for more than 20 years has maintained as the only luxury brand with assembled products in Vietnam.

Recently, BMW AG and partner Truong Hai (Thaco) announced cooperation and assembly of BMW series 3, series 5, X3, and X5 in Vietnam. However, Thaco has not given any official information about this.
