The end of the year is always the busiest time of the Vietnamese car market of the year, the reason is that many users embrace the psychology of automobile shopping to welcome the new year, as well as getting profit from big deals from car manufacturers or dealers to stimulate consumer demand. However, the story is somewhat different this year because after the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, the State issued Decree 70/2020/ ND-CP in the second half of 2020, applying a 50% discount on registration fee for domestically produced cars. In which, not only popular car manufacturers have great benefits but also Mercedes-Benz – the only luxury car brand with an assembly plant in our country is also achieving impressive success.

In Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz has always been account for a large market share in the luxury car segment with two main car lines, C-Class and GLC. With a 50% discount on the registration fee, users can save from tens to hundreds of million VND, so it is not surprising that Mercedes-Benz models are “selling like hot cakes”.

As the only luxury car company that has an assembly plant in Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz models have a huge advantage over their competitors due to the preferential 50% reduction in registration fees.

In particular, although there are many changes in 2020, it can be considered as a successful year of Mercedes-Benz GLC. It is known that GLC has been in a shortage at the dealer because most cars produced in 2020 are sold, the number of cars at the dealer is not much, so the facilities are selling at the right price and there are no promotions included. Before that information, many Vietnamese users feel regretful because they did not buy before but determined to wait for the end of the year to enjoy more incentives.

Going into detail, the boom of Mercedes-Benz GLC started from attractive new features in design and equipment during the mid-life upgrade in 2020. Specifically, the GLC 300 4Matic is the first version to be upgraded and launched by Mercedes-Benz Vietnam at the end of December 2019. Significantly, despite only importing the first batch of 200 units while waiting for line upgrades and “fire fighting” for the shopping occasion of the 2020 Lunar New Year, only 1 month after the official launch, this version has shown signs of stocks-out at the dealer despite the proposed retail price increasing by nearly 300 million VND compared to the old version assembled domestically.

Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic 2020 attracts customers right from the time when it is imported, has not been transferred to domestic assembly.

Then, in early February, the Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 2020 (locally assembled) was also launched with a slight increase of 50 million dong. Along with that, the appearance of the GLC 300 2020 assembled in early March with a price reduction of 200 million VND compared to the imported version has made this car once again customer-attracting, especially when Decree 70/ 2020/ ND-CP officially takes effect at the end of June.

In Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz GLC is also a popular model in showbiz. The typical people who bought themselves a GLC this year include football player Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau or actress Bao Thanh,…
