Mercedes’ cheapest pure electric SUV launches to Vietnamese customers

The EQB 250, a compact 7-seat luxury electric SUV from Mercedes, is making waves in the Vietnamese automotive market. Standing out as one of Mercedes’ more affordable electric offerings, it combines luxury with eco-friendliness. The vehicle boasts an impressive range of 473 km on a single charge and can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

In terms of dimensions, the EQB 250 measures 4,684 mm in length, 1,829 mm in width, and 1,688 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,829 mm. It’s built on the MFA2 chassis, the same platform as the GLB gasoline model, and features 19-inch AMG sports wheels known for their aerodynamic design.

The design maintains Mercedes’ signature luxury aesthetic. It introduces an option for LED matrix headlight clusters that adapt to various driving conditions. Inside, the cabin is a showcase of modernity, with a digital dashboard, a 10.25-inch central entertainment touch screen, and the MBUX system. Seating up to seven passengers in a 2-3-2 configuration, it offers a flexible and spacious interior, with a maximum cargo capacity of 1,710 liters when both the second and third rows are folded.

Under the hood, the EQB 250 is powered by a 140 kW (approximately 190 horsepower) front-wheel-drive electric motor, delivering a peak torque of 385 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. The vehicle houses a 66.5 kWh Lithium-ion battery that provides a range of 422-473 km on a full charge.

Charging the EQB 250 from 0 to 100% takes approximately 6.5 hours using an 11 kW AC charging station, and a bit longer with single-phase electricity. Safety and convenience features abound, including active headlights, parking assist, cruise control, and advanced airbags.

In terms of pricing, the EQB 250 is competitively positioned in the Vietnamese market, making it an attractive option for those seeking a blend of luxury and sustainability. With these features and advancements, Mercedes aims to provide a compelling electric SUV option for the discerning Vietnamese consumer.
