The presented promotions are from the manufacturer only. MG ZS and HS are likely to be given more incentives by dealers to stimulate consumer demand.

On the occasion of 1 year anniversary of its presence in Vietnam, MG recently announced a promotion for the duo MG ZS and HS in August 2021. Accordingly, MG ZS (except for the standard STD + version) will be given 1 year of material insurance. Versions of LUX 2WD, and LUX AWD of MG HS will receive 1 year of material insurance and a support of 50% registration fee (worth up to about 52 million VND).

MG Motor is originates from Great Britain, but acquired by China’s SAIC Group. For the two products being distributed in Vietnam, the MG ZS is now imported in Thailand after a mid-life upgrade at the end of April, while the MG HS is still made in China.

In particular, MG ZS belongs to the B-segment SUV segment, competing with Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Kona, or Kia Seltos. The price of MG ZS is among the cheapest in the segment, starting from 519 million, with the highest version up to 619 million. However, MG ZS does not lack attractive equipment such as an LED lighting system, leather interior, 10.1-inch entertainment screen with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity.

Underneath the bonnet, MG ZS 2021 comes with a 1.5L gasoline engine that produces a maximum capacity of 112 horsepower and maximum torque of 150 Nm. The gearbox is a CVT stepless type with 8 simulated levels, RWD. Some notable safety features include cornering brakes, tire pressure warning, six airbags, and a 360-degree camera.

On the MG HS side, this model is in the C-sized crossover segment that competes directly with Hyundai Tucson, Mazda CX-5, or Toyota Corolla Cross. However, due to its origin from China, despite having l0wer prices is among others in the segment (719 – 869 million VND), MG HS still struggle in finding customers. Although the company did not disclose details of monthly sales, according to consultants, the business is not booming.
