Mid-range electric motorcycle models for Vietnamese customers

The mid-range and high-end electric motorcycle segment now have more options for Vietnamese customers.

In this segment, electric motorcycles are usually similar in size to mass scooters, with the same carrying capacity and longer travel distances than low-segment electric motorcycles.

The main customers of the mid-range electric motorcycle segment are usually students or workers. Prices of these mid-range electric motorbikes is about 30-50 million VND.

 

VinFast Klara S

In 2022, VinFast will launch the Klara S version using LFP batteries, for a longer travel distance than the old Klara S version using lithium-ion batteries.

The scooter has a neutral design, seat height at 760 mm, weighs 112 kg, is suitable for both men and women. Klara S is equipped with LED lights for the front and rear lights. The trunk has a capacity of 23 liters, which fits a 3/4 helmet and other personal items.

Klara S is equipped with the same engine and LFP battery block as the Feliz S model, with a nominal capacity of 1.8 kW, a maximum speed of 78 km/h, a 3.5 kWh LFP battery for short distances under 200 km.

With a price of nearly 40 million, the scooter is equipped with features such as LED lights, disc brakes on both front and rear wheels.

Neo’s is Yamaha’s only electric motorcycle model in Vietnam market, launched in early 2023. The scooter has a modern and stylish design, different from other models on the market, suitable for young people. The saddle is quite high (790 mm), a bit inconvenient for most female customers in situations where feet are needed. In return, the model is light, only 98 kg, making the control more flexible.

Neo’s has a rear-wheel drive engine, rated capacity of 2.3 kW, a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1,186 kWh, for an announced operating range of 72 km, and a maximum speed of 48 km/h. Battery takes 8 hours to fully charge. The trunk is 27 liters wide, fitting 3/4 helmets and many other items, or fits most popular 13-inch laptops.

Despite the high price, this scooter is not equipped with rear disc brakes, nor does it have safety technology such as ABS.

Sold with a single version priced at VND 54.9 million, the Vietnamese-branded electric scooter Dat Bike Weaver 200 has many new upgrades compared to the first generation launched in 2019. The scooter has a similar design to small-sized motorcycles, with battery capacity at 4,896 kWh, for a travel distance of 130-200 km after each charge.

Rear-wheel-mounted engine, producing a maximum capacity of 6 kW, a maximum speed of 90 km / h, the manufacturer does not provide nominal power information. The bike fully charges the battery in 3 hours, the first hour of charging the amount of power provided for a driving distance of 100 km.

Weaver 200 is equipped with front and rear disc brakes with engine braking when lowering the throttle. The bike is not equipped with a trunk or storage compartment, making it a bit inconvenient to use when going to the market or supermarket. The model is suitable for young people who like a unique and electric bike model. However, Dat Bike has many problems with users because of complaints such as warranty quality, poor maintenance, slow delivery, error-prone products…
