The 6th generation C-sized high-rise car will be introduced at the Bangkok Motor Show 2023, with two engine options and 5 or 7 seats.

The Japanese car brand chose the Bangkok Motor Show (Bangkok Motor Show 2023) to introduce the new generation CR-V on March 20, according to Autolifethailand. The upcoming new CR-V is of the 6th generation. The car has two petrol engine options, including 1.5 Turbo and e:HEV (2.0 Hybrid i-MMD).

Thailand is often the first market in the region chosen to sell new products. When launched here, customers in other Southeast Asian countries can expect the product to go on sale in their home countries soon, more specifically within the same year. In Vietnam, the Japanese automaker may introduce the new CR-V at the end of this year or early next year.

Compared to the old generation, the new generation CR-V is 84 mm longer, 9 mm wider, 3 mm taller, with respective dimensions of 4,694 x 1,864 x 1,692 (mm). The wheelbase is also 38 mm longer at 2,700 mm. The exterior of the new generation CR-V is more rigidly designed as Honda omits the rounded features. The two sides of the body are embossed to create a more muscular shape. The rear of the car has a new taillight cluster. The rear bumper is now simpler.

Interior options include 2 or 3 rows of seats. The center console inherits the design from the Civic junior. The Japanese automaker upgraded the 7-inch digital dashboard, electric seats, and electronic handbrake. A 9-inch touch screen for the infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available. Wireless charging, HUD steering wheel display, 12-speaker Bose audio, and 360-degree camera can be seen.

New generation CR-V comes with 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 193 horsepower, maximum torque of 243 Nm, and CVT transmission combined with all-wheel drive. For its e:HEV version, consisting of a 2.0 gasoline engine combined with two electric motors, the car produces a total capacity of 207 horsepower, 335 Nm of torque. Available is E-CVT transmission, all-wheel drive.

The new generation CR-V is equipped with Honda Sensing, including collision mitigation braking, automatic adaptive headlights, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, and front vehicle departure warning.

The new generation Honda Civic was first introduced to the world in the US in July 2022, followed by the Chinese market with a 7-seat version.

Bangkok Motor Show 2023 (BMS), the largest auto and motorcycle exhibition in Southeast Asia, takes place annually in March in Thailand. As planned, BMS 2023 will take place from March 22 to April 2.
