Dealers now open sales for Avanza’s 2 versions of E and G. In which, E-version cost 520 million while that of G-version is 590 million VND.

According to dealers, both versions of Avanza are not equipped with Toyota Safety Sense. The E version comes with a manual transmission; G-version is a stepless automatic transmission with 4 exterior colors: black, silver, white, purple-silver.

In Vietnam, Avanza is likely to use a 1.5L engine, giving 104 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 137 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm, combined with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or CVT. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, this model uses a 1.3L engine that produces 96 horsepower and 121 Nm of torque.

According to dealers, the standard equipment of Avanza may include an 8-inch screen entertainment system, 4 speakers, and 4.2-inch TFT screen in the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. The G version employs push-button start system. Both versions use mechanical air conditioning and felt seats.

In addition to the Avanza, Toyota dealers have also officially started receiving a deposit for the Veloz. This model is larger in size than Avanza. Its appearance is slightly changed at the front, while being more fully equipped compared to Avanza.

The different basic equipment on these two models is that the Veloz has 4-disc brakes, electronic drum brakes, larger rims, and larger entertainment screen. The engine and chassis are no different between these two models.

In Vietnam, Veloz will have two versions like Avanza, E and G with 5 exterior colors: white, black, red, silver, purple silver. Veloz’s expected price will be from 550 to under 650 million. This is also a model that will replace Rush in the near future, when Rush cannot compete against Xpander.

Therefore, with the pricing of these two products, Avanza will benefit customers at a lower price point, while Veloz will take care of those with more wealth and demands more amenities.

In the previous generation, Avanza did not attract customers because of its bland design, old-fashioned furniture, and limited equipment. In 2021, this model only sold 33 cars. The new Avanza is expected to create a counterweight to Xpander in the mid-size high-rise MPV segment.

The size of the new generation Avanza has also increased compared to the old generation – 205 mm longer, 70 mm wider, and 95 mm longer wheelbase. Height depends on version, which can be 30 mm lower or 5 mm higher than the old generation. Specifically, the length x width x height parameters are (4,395 x 1,730 x 1,665/1,700) mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.

The new generation Avanza uses the same DNGA platform as the new Raize model, which is also the common structure of Daihatsu Rocky and Perodua Ativa. The removable ladder frame of the old generation has been replaced by a monolithic frame that combines MacPherson front suspension and torsion-bar rear shock absorbers.
