03 Aug 2021

Nissan Almera 2021 is the new generation of Sunny with many updated designs from equipment to engines.

After multiple leaked images and rumors, on August 3, 2021, Nissan Vietnam officially launched Nissan Almera 2021 with 3 different versions including MT, CVT, and Premium CVT. The suggested retail prices are 469 million, 529 million, and 579 million VND, respectively. Almera is the new name of Nissan Sunny and it seems that in this upgrade, Nissan Vietnam wants this B-class sedan to unify its name with cars in other markets.

However, it is not until September that the Nissan Almera 2021 is delivered to customers. Therefore, the company also has a promotion program of up to 40 million VND to attract consumers.

Thus, compared to the old model, the price of the Nissan Almera 2021 increases by 81 million VND, equal to Honda City, higher than Hyundai Accent but still cheaper than Toyota Vios. Through which, the market sees Nissan Vietnam’s ambition to improve sales, as the equipment on the Premium CVT version of the Nissan Almera 2021 is not removed.

The exterior design of the Nissan Almera 2021 is transformed into a more modern and youthful direction. The size of the car also changes with a wheelbase of up to 2,620 mm, among the largest in the segment, promising a spacious interior space. On the most advanced version, the car is equipped with a full LED lighting system and 15-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the Nissan Almera 2021 also has a big design change with a 3-spoke D-cut sport steering wheel, the rear dashboard is added to a digital multi-information display. Notable utilities include an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity, single-zone automatic air conditioning, USB/12V charging ports. Unfortunately, the car only comes with felt seats, even on the most advanced version and this may be a minus point for many people.

Under the hood, all 3 versions of Nissan Almera 2021 are equipped with a turbocharged 1.0L engine that comes with an XTRONIC CVT continuous variable transmission for a maximum capacity of 100 horsepower at 5,000 rpm, maximum torque of 152 Nm in the 2,500-4,000 rpm range. Accompanying that is the Idle Stop engine technology that allows this model to significantly save more fuel. This can be considered the only B-class sedan equipped with a small-capacity turbocharged engine in Vietnam at the moment.

In terms of safety equipment, in addition to basic features such as ABS, EBD electronic brake force distribution system, HSA horizontal departure, VDC electronic balance, TCS anti-slip system, and 6 air bags, Nissan Almera 2021 also has a 360-degree camera, blind-spot warning, and cross-traffic warning. These are the unique options in the B-segment sedan segment and also the competitive advantage of this model.
