Porsche distributors in Vietnam recalled more than 300 units of Panamera genuinely sold, manufactured in the period from July 21st, 2015, to November 10th, 2021. This is a part of Porsche’s global recall campaign for Panamera vehicles with faulty air conditioning systems.

Porsche informed the affected Panameras were equipped with an auxiliary water pump for cockpit heating, a function in the car’s air conditioning system. The German company identified that moisture could penetrate with the control box of the auxiliary water pump, resulting in the device malfunctioning when Auto-Rest mode using residual heat from the engine to heat the cockpit is activated.

After a long period of using the vehicle, the maloperation of the control box can lead to damage to the auxiliary water pump, electrical jack as well as the wiring of the device … When the vehicle is driven or parked, the Auto-Rest function is still activated, which can increase the risk of damage and heat generation in the auxiliary water pump. In the rare case when this happens, the operability and safety of the vehicle will be affected.

Porsche Vietnam is recalling involved vehicles to replace faulty auxiliary water pumps. The recall runs from Apr 1st, 2023, through the end of 2024.

Inspections and repairs for the Panamera are carried out at Official Porsche dealers nationwide and are free of charge. The troubleshooting time is about 1.5 hours per vehicle.

The Panamera is Porsche’s first and only full-size sedan. Panamera sold in Vietnam is imported from Germany and has 7 versions, with the price from 5.31 to 13.03 billion VND.
