In emergency situations in urban areas, motorcycles are often the fastest transportation for rescuers to reach the scene. Especially in European and Asian countries, frequent urban traffic congestion obstructs specialized ambulances’ approach.

Piaggio therefore launched the Life Support line for three-wheeled scooter duo the MP3 400 and 530 HPE. Recently, the Italian automaker has launched an updated version 2024 for this duo of emergency scooters. In the 2024 design, the Piaggio MP3 Life Support is equipped with specialized equipment for emergency rescue works. Available in both 400 and 530 HPE versions, the Life Support series offers safety and high technology, meeting the needs of rescuers.

Piaggio MP3 offers flexibility when traveling in heavy traffic, maintaining stability when riding on slippery surfaces as well as easy navigation. Two new versions, the 400 and 530 HPE, have a step forward thanks to the integration of advanced technology features, making them ideal vehicles in emergency situations.

Notably, the 530 HPE version is the world’s first three-wheeled vehicle equipped with an advanced driver assistance system (ARAS). This includes a blind spot warning system (BLIS) that alerts the rider about vehicles in the blind spot of the rearview mirror through special signals displayed on the TFT screen. Another exclusive feature available on the Piaggio MP3 is the integration of a reverse gearbox with a rear video camera, making travel easier and safer.

The new Piaggio MP3 400 and 530 HPE Life Support series have been commonly used in national and territorial emergency services in many countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Australia and especially Israel, where over 650 units have become symbolic of the country’s emergency response efforts.

Compared to the standard Piaggio MP3 version, the Life Support line is also equipped with LED strobe lights and alarms in front, 360 flashing LED light poles and high-end reflective stickers. In addition, these vehicles are also equipped with additional cargo boxes in front, increasing the vehicle’s storage capacity to 102 liters, helping to transport more easily essential medical supplies for first aid work before arriving at the hospital including basic support equipment, advanced life support equipment, defibrillators, clothing, oxygen cylinders, respiratory apparatus, and infusion kits.
