The Department of Competition and Consumer Protection and the Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced the recall program from Toyota Motor Vietnam.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just announced the recall program from Toyota Motor Vietnam Toyota Motor Company to recall Fortuner car products.
Accordingly, the vehicle recall program for checking and replacing the brake assist vacuum tubes on the Toyota Fortuner line manufactured and assembled by Toyota Motor Vietnam Company. A total of 190 units were registered.
The company stated that the problem was that affected models were equipped with a brake-assist system consisting of vacuum tubes connected to the brake assist bulb. This vacuum tube may appear distorted, deformed, causing the system to lose its effectiveness, leading to more brake force required to stop the vehicle and increase in distance to full-stop.
The cause was determined to be improper vulcanization. The vacuum tubes may not have been elastic enough. If the vehicle continues to operate, the vacuum tubes can be distorted and deformed. Toyota recommends that consumers, for their own interests and safety and accompanied passengers, should quickly bring their car to the Toyota dealers to have them checked and replaced.
Locations to seek out: all Toyota dealers nationwide from Toyota Motor Vietnam. Estimated time for check-ups: 0.6-1.2 hours / vehicle. Checking and repairing for affected vehicles is free of charge.
This error recovery and recovery program starts from September 11, 2020 and is scheduled to end on September 11, 2023. Consumers can contact the Toyota dealers directly, via Toyota Vietnam’s hotline number: 18001524 or 0916001524, or on the website: www.toyota.com.vn
Implementing the role of the state management agency on the protection of consumers’ interests, the Department of Industry and Trade has been actively monitoring said program issued by Toyota Motor Vietnam.
