Vinfast has just issued a recall order for 730 VF e34 electric cars to solve problems related to side collision sensors. Among which, 709 were sold to consumers.

The cause is that the side collision sensor of VF e34’s airbag system is likely to have an incompatibility error with its airbag controller. Therefore, in the event of a collision, this system may send an incorrect signal, resulting in bad or slow deploying, not ensuring the safety of passengers.

So far, Vinfast has not recorded any damage or customer complaints about sensor errors. According to the manufacturer, this defect is discovered when the airbag supplier performs periodic product testing and analysis.

Vinfast will carry out a campaign to recall and replace side collision sensors for 730 VF e34s from October 17, 2022 to October 17, 2023. It is expected that the repair time for each vehicle is about 3.2 hours.
