With prices ranging from 270.3 – 281.3 million Rupiah (about 430 – 447 million VND), Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid 2022 is the cheapest hybrid model in the Indonesian market today.

On June 10, 2022, Suzuki officially introduced the new Ertiga version in the Indonesian market. This is the second market in the world, after India, and the first Southeast Asian country to receive the Suzuki Ertiga 2022. This is expected as Indonesia is a market which loves MPVs.

True to previous information, Ertiga 2022’s most notable highlight is the new Smart Hybrid powertrain. Accordingly, the heart of the car is a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a maximum capacity of 105 horsepower and maximum torque of 138 Nm.

Said engine combines with a lithium-ion battery pack and an integrated starter generator (ISG). This battery pack can be charged automatically when the vehicle decelerates through regenerative braking. In fact, this MPV model is equipped with a mild hybrid powertrain, similar to Mercedes-Benz’s EQ Boost technology, not a true hybrid.

In addition, Ertiga 2022 comes with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Currently, the fuel consumption of Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid 2022 has not been announced. However, the car will definitely save more gas than its predecessor. At the same time, this is also the first hybrid model in the small MPV segment in the Indonesian market.

Not only offering a new engine, Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid 2022 also changes slightly in the exterior design. Accordingly, the car is equipped with a chrome grille with a new wing shape. Then comes a new chrome brace on the trunk door, located close to the glass. However, the car is not equipped with alloy wheels with a doubled 5-spoke design, painted in two new colors like that in India. Instead, this MPV model still uses alloy wheels with the same 7-spoke design as the old version.

Inside, the interior space is no different from before. The car is still equipped with felt seats, wooden dashboard, beveled sports steering wheel, integrated function keys and multi-information screen located inside the dashboard. In addition, there is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and a digital display of the air conditioning system.

Unfortunately, Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid 2022 still offers no active safety features. Instead, the car only has an electronic balance system, hill start assist, cruise control, and automatic headlights with a waiting light feature.

In the Indonesian market, this MPV model has 2 versions: GX MT and GX AT. The price of Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid 2022 ranges from 270.3 – 281.3 million Rupiah (about 430 – 447 million VND). Thus, this will be the cheapest hybrid model in the Indonesian market today.

It is not clear after Indonesia, whether Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid 2022 will be sold in other Southeast Asian markets like Vietnam.
