SYM MMBCU has just been registered with the Ministry, hinting its likely release in Vietnamese markets.
Recently, updated data from the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam revealed information and images about a completely new off-road scooter model from SYM. The image posted in the brochure reveals that SYM’s scooter model possesses a strong and muscular design.
Although detailed information about this model has not been announced, it can be predicted that said model is the SYM MMBCU 2022. This model is distributed in Taiwan since August 2022. The selling price is 110,000 New Taiwan Dollars (about 85 million VND).
Compared to other models from SYM product lines, the MMBCU has a rather different design with inspiration from the black Mamba snake in Africa. In particular, at the front, the LED headlight cluster is placed in the middle, combining 2 horizontal positioning lights on the two side air vents. This is similar to the layout of the front light cluster of the Kawasaki Ninja H2 motorcycle. Meanwhile, the rear is quite simple with double taillights and separate fenders.
In Taiwan, according to information announced by SYM, MMBCU owns a high steering wheel design and a digital clock. Right below the steering wheel is a small storage compartment and fuel tank cap. The footrest of the car is also spacious; 28-liter storage space is available under the seat. This model has a telescopic fork at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear, both wheels are equipped with single disc brakes with dual-channel Bosch ABS.
SYM MMBCU 2022 carries a single-cylinder 158cc engine, liquid-cooled, combined with CVT gearbox and traction control system (TCS). SYM has not yet announced the engine’s power figures.
With the registration of design copyrights with the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, it is likely that SYM will launch SYM MMBCU to the market in the near future to compete with Honda ADV 160 or Aprilia SR GT 200.
