Although discounted by 30 million VND and given extra accessories, Ford Territory Trend is still not selling well, facing the risk of being discontinued even though it has just returned to Vietnam.

The Vietnamese tend to choose the high-end version when buying a Ford Territory, so the standard version is having rough sales despite having a much lower price.

According to information from the dealer, the Ford Territory Trend version is expected stop selling next month. The reason comes from the fact that this version has low purchasing power; most customers look to versions of Titanium or TitaniumX.

The standard Trend version has a list price of VND 822 million. However, the actual selling price at the agent is only about 790 million VND. Buyers are also given some additional accessories such as glass stickers, underbody covers… worth 20 million VND.

Compared to the Titanium version priced at 899 million, the Trend version lacks interior amenities and modern safety technologies such as a 7-inch screen behind the steering wheel (instead of 12 inches), manual wipers, no sunroof, lack of automatic braking, lane keeping or adaptive throttle, automatic headlights, or parking assist, and 4 airbags (instead of 6).

However, the exterior of the Trend and Titanium versions are almost similar. The car is still equipped with LED lights, LED taillights, and 18-inch wheels. The chrome-plated details around are still retained.

All 3 versions share the same turbocharged 1.5L engine, capacity of 160 horsepower, torque of 248 Nm, combined with 7-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

Meanwhile, with a price just higher than VND 113 million, the TitaniumX version offers a lot more modern equipment, such as 19-inch rims, 12-inch screen behind the steering wheel, seat cooler, panoramic sunroof, automatic anti-glare mirrors, 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, and features such as emergency brake assist, blind spot warning, lane warning, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams.

According to the sharing from the dealer sales consultant, the most advanced TitaniumX version has better selling power. Therefore, this version is sold at the listed price, without promotion.

Ford Territory is assembled in Vietnam. This model is in the same segment as Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, and Honda CR-V. Territory is the replacement for Escape – a model that was planned to be assembled in Vietnam and was displayed at VMS 2019.
