Peugeot Django scooters have officially returned to the Vietnamese market in the form of domestic assembly and distributed by THACO through Peugeot passenger car dealers nationwide.

The Peugeot Django scooter is a relatively unknown name in the Vietnamese market, though it appeared in Vietnam 5 years ago through a number of private distributors and has also been welcomed by domestic customers thanks to fancy style and classic design. However, after only a short time, this scooter gradually disappeared and is only available in the market as used motorcycles.

On 12/12/2020, THACO and Peugeot officially announced to expand the relationship between them through technology transfer and cooperation in manufacturing and assembling Peugeot Motorcycles. Peugeot motorcycle products will be distributed in the Vietnamese market and exported to ASEAN countries and other markets. The first product of this partnership is Peugeot Django scooter.

With designs inspired by the legendary models S55 and S57, Peugeot Django is a combination of classic decoration with rounded, oblong design and modern style. This is clearly shown through the chrome contours covering along the motorcycle body and prominent highlights such as the “French Lion” logo surrounded by LED daytime running lights and round headlights.

Peugeot Django still retains its signature scooter design with a body length of 1,925mm, and a height of 770mm which is quite suitable for Vietnamese customers in particular and Asia in general. The saddle of Peugeot Django is designed with two separate parts to create a classic feel.

Peugeot Django is equipped with an Easy-Motion EURO 4 engine and electronic fuel injection EFI with a capacity of 125cc. The highlight of Peugeot Django is in safety equipment including disc brakes on both front and back wheels, anti-lock braking system ABS and anti-theft locking. Peugeot Django’s convenient parts include an 18-liter trunk, 12V charging port.

Peugeot Django will be distributed in Vietnam through a system of motorcycle selling stores based on the network of Peugeot passenger car showrooms combined with service workshops according to global Peugeot standards. The price of Peugeot Django was officially announced at 68 million VND with 7 colors for customers to choose from.

Similar to the automotive area, THACO will focus on promoting R&D activities towards mastering production technology and increasing the content localization to over 40% that is eligible to export scooter models such as Peugeot Django to ASEAN countries.
