With new design and modern features, these scooter models promise to steal a part of the market share that SH is covering.

If in the low or mid-end motorcycle segments, there is an intense competition between models from different brands, in the high-end scooter segment, SH is still at the top where other modesl are desired.

However, other manufacturers could not let the delicious piece of the market cake be taken by SH. Only in 2020, there were 3 new scooter models launched just to confront the high-end scooter from Honda.

1. Piaggio Medley 2020

In early 2020, Piaggio brings a completely new version of Medley 2020 to the Vietnamese market and the main rival that this model is aiming at is the SH 2020.

Improved with a sportier design, Medley 2020 also owns many modern technologies such as a completely LCD clock system, connected to a smartphone through Piaggio MIA to help view notifications such as messages, calls on the monitor screen. The scooter is also integrated with the ABS brake system to bring safety to the user during the ride. In addition, the 36-liter trunk that comes with the front storage compartment and integrated USB charging port is also the factor that makes users satisfied with this model.

Although the suggested price is pretty much the same as the SH 2020, in fact at the dealer, the price of Piaggio Medley 2020 is much cheaper than SH. However, those benefits are not enough to make consumers satisfied. Because in terms of engine power or fuel efficiency, the scooter from Piaggio is still inferior to the SH 2020.

2. Peugeot Django 2020

In early December 2021, Thaco officially introduced the Peugeot Django scooter that is completely assembled in Vietnam, making the price of this scooter more competitive than its competitors including SH, particularly, the list price of this scooter model is 68 million dong.

Along with a low seat suitable for the Vietnamese, Peugeot Django also has a different overall design compared to the scooter models available on the market, creating a novelty. In addition, the French model is also equipped with an anti-lock braking system ABS to bring safety to the user during operation.

However, in terms of modern equipment or engines, Django is still far from the SH 2020, and it is even considered as not to “sit on the same wheel” with SH.

3. Lambretta V200 GP

Just a few days ago, the Italian company, which was “disappearing”, suddenly released the Lambretta V200GP – a classic scooter model with a strong sporty style. Not only having a famous design, this scooter model is also equipped with a 169cc engine, bringing outstanding power to the product.

Along with that, the Lambretta V200 GP also integrates the Upside-Down shock absorber system in the front to help provide good shock absorption, especially when traveling on mixed terrain.

In addition, the scooter has a listed price of only 82 million VND in Thailand, which causes the selling price of the Lambretta VP200 GP will also compete with SH 2020 when it comes to Vietnam.

However, compared to the SH 2020, the V200 GP is worse in anti-lock braking system ABS as well as HSTC system. Along with “good liquidity” perhaps Lambretta V200 GP still needs time to conquer customers in the high-end segment of scooter in Vietnam.
