On October 4, Toyota Vietnam unveiled the 2023 version of the Corolla Altis, featuring upgrades aimed at enhancing the driving experience and safety. The new Altis showcases a redesigned honeycomb grille with chrome-plated accents, providing a stylish and refreshed appearance while retaining other exterior elements from the previous model.

Inside, a notable enhancement in the Altis 2023 is the Multi-Information Display (MID) screen, now enlarged to 12.3 inches across all versions, a significant upgrade from the previous 7-inch screen. The top-tier 1.8 HEV version is further equipped with a 360-degree camera. The 1.8 V version incorporates Toyota Safery Sense safety features, including blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, and automatic adjustment of outside mirrors during reverse maneuvers.

Regarding the engine, the Altis 2023 maintains the powertrain from the previous version. The 1.8 G and 1.8 V versions are equipped with a 1.8-liter gasoline engine generating 138 horsepower and a maximum torque of 172 Nm. The 1.8 HEV hybrid version combines a 1.8-liter gasoline engine (97 horsepower, 142 Nm) with an electric motor (71 horsepower, 163 Nm). All three versions are paired with a CVT gearbox.

In terms of pricing, the Altis remains positioned as the highest-priced car in the C-segment sedan category. For comparison, the Mazda3 ranges from 579-729 million VND, the Kia K3 from 549-739 million VND, the Hyundai Elantra from 599-799 million VND, and the Honda Civic from 599-799 million VND. The sedan market is experiencing a slowdown, likely due to increasing demand for higher-riding vehicles, particularly as the prices of mid- and high-end C-segment sedans are aligning with corresponding crossover models.
