The new generation of mid-sized Toyota Camry will not convert to full electricity against today’s trends.

The 8th generation Toyota Camry has been on the market since 2017. By 2020, this mid-size sedan has been supplemented with an upgraded mid-life version. Therefore, it is not surprising that Toyota is currently developing the 9th generation of the Camry.

According to rumors from the Japanese press, the new generation Toyota Camry will be officially launched in 2023. They believe that the 2023 Toyota Camry will continue to be developed on the basis of the TNGA-K platform. At the same time, the new generation of this sedan will not turn into an all-electric car like the current trend. Instead, the Toyota Camry 2023 will be equipped with a new generation hybrid powertrain with improved performance and fuel economy.

Previously, during the event on December 14, 2021, Toyota and its sub-brand Lexus unveiled a total of 15 electric car models. Among these models, none were the Toyota Camry. Therefore, rumors about the car not being converted into an electric vehicle are well founded. In addition, Camry 2023 will own a sportier exterior design with sharper headlights than before. This headlight cluster integrates a new “L”-shaped daytime positioning LED strip. Inside the model is a digital dashboard and a large infotainment screen. This equipment will work in combination with new interior materials.

Toyota Camry 2023 is also expected to be equipped with the next-generation Toyota Safety Sense active safety system, which includes features such as pedestrian detection, lane keeping, cruise control, and more.

Currently, the model remains a popular choice from Toyota, although the sedan is inferior to the SUV/crossover in the global market. In Vietnam, the product was recently added a new version with more attractive equipment.

In particular, the 2.0G and 2.0Q versions use a 4-cylinder petrol engine, 2.0L in capacity, producing a maximum capacity of 176 horsepower, CVT.

On the other hand, the 2.5Q version is equipped with a 4-cylinder petrol engine, 2.5L capacity with a maximum capacity of 202 horsepower, 8-speed automatic transmission. Finally, the 2.5HV version uses a gasoline engine combined with an electric motor, for a total capacity of 178 horsepower, CVT.
