VF 5 Plus installs an electric motor with a capacity of 134 horsepower, 135 Nm of torque, a range of 300 km after fully charged, priced at VND 538 million (with battery).

On December 3, VinFast announced that it will accept deposits from Vietnamese customers from December 10, for the VF 5 Plus model, although it has not introduced the concept or commercial version in the Vietnamese market. VF 5 Plus is a replacement product for the Fadil, which has been discontinued since mid-2022.

VinFast launched the VF 5 Plus in early 2022 at the CES exhibition (USA). The company shapes this model in the high-ground-clearance segment A, where there are a number of new products sold in Vietnam, running on gasoline such as Toyota Raize priced at 547 million VND, Kia Sonet priced at 524-634 million VND.

VF 5 Plus has a wheelbase of 2,513 mm, length, width, and height of 3,965 x 1,720 x 1,580 mm, respectively. Compared to Fadil, the VF 5 is huge. Fadil has dimensions of 3,676 x 1,632 x 1,530, wheelbase 2,385 mm.

Compared to other models in the A-size crossover segment, the overall size of the VF 5 is nearly equivalent to the Raize (2,525 mm wheelbase; 4,030 x 1,710 x 1,605 mm). Sonet has a slightly larger overall size than the above two models, with 4,120 x 1,790 x 1,642 mm. However, the wheelbase of Sonet is only 2,500 mm, lower than both the VF 5 and Raize.

The most important parameter with a high-ground car model is the ground clearance. This has not yet been revealed by VinFast.

The Vietnamese automaker said that the VF 5 Plus installs an electric motor, with a capacity of 134 horsepower, maximum torque of 135 Nm, driving the front wheels. VinFast VF 5 Plus’s lithium battery pack has a capacity of 37.23 kWh, for a travel distance of 300 km after each full charge. The company has not specified the charging method and how long it will take to charge this model.

There are no pictures of the interior and specific equipment on the VinFast VF 5 version in Vietnam. The company says the car has safety equipment such as cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot warning, incoming traffic warning when opening the door, rear parking assist, emergency brake assist, electronic balance, hill-start assist, tire pressure monitoring…

VinFast has opened deposits for customers in two forms. If the deposit is 20 million, the guest is entitled to 30-million-VND discount, transferable, non-refundable/cancellable; if deposit 10 million VND, the incentive is 20 million VND, transferable, refundable/cancelled. Both are until January 10, 2023.

In Vietnam, VinFast VF 5 Plus costs VND 458 million (excluding battery) and VND 538 million (including battery, i.e., the battery costs 80 million). Fixed battery rental price is 1.6 million VND/month (excluding charging costs). Customers who buy a car are entitled to a fixed battery rental price for the entire life of the product according to the price at the time of receiving the car. The company offers a 7-year warranty for the VF 5 Plus (or 140,000 km, whichever comes first).

The time to receive the VF 5 Plus is expected from April 2023. Units are manufactured at VinFast’s factory in Hai Phong.

VF 5 is the smallest high-ground-clearance model in the product range of VinFast. Fadil replacement car, the best-selling A-size pure gasoline car in the segment for two consecutive years in 2020, 2021 before its death in the second half of 2022. The price of 458-538 million VND of VF 5 Plus can bite into the market share of customers. A-size car groups such as Kia Morning, Hyundai i10 and high-rise models such as Toyota Raize, Kia Sonet.
