VinFast, the Vietnamese automaker, has revealed the first rendering image of its factory in the United States. The factory is located at the Triangle Innovation Point industrial park in Chatham County, North Carolina, on approximately 800 hectares of land. While there is no nearby seaport like the factory in Hai Phong, the chosen location is adjacent to three national highways. VinFast had to level streams and wetlands to prepare the land for construction.

The land purchased by VinFast in the US was reportedly worth $44 million in 2022. The company plans to invest over $4 billion in the project, with the initial stage costing about $2 billion to build a factory with a capacity of 150,000 vehicles per year. The second phase will focus on battery production. The factory is expected to employ more than 7,000 workers.

The design diagram of the VinFast factory in the US reveals different areas, including a welding workshop area of over 72,400 square meters, a central power plant of over 3,000 square meters, an assembly area of over 92,500 square meters, a bodywork area of over 46,000 square meters, and a paint shop of over 47,600 square meters.

VinFast currently offers two models for sale in the US, namely the VF 8 and VF 9, which were announced in November 2021. The VF 8s are manufactured in Vietnam and exported to the US.

In the near future, VinFast plans to expand its product portfolio in the US market and other countries such as Canada, France, and Germany. Models like the VF 5, VF 6, and VF 7 have been introduced as concepts in the US and are likely to be sold internationally.

VinFast aims to have a total of 40 stores in California, USA. These VinFast Stores will be located across the state, offering different levels of service. The 1S store will focus on displaying and selling cars, the 2S shop will offer spare parts and repairs, and the largest 3S store will include a showroom, car sales, and a repair and maintenance area.
