Weltmeister, with intentions of entering Southeast Asian markets and Vietnam, has introduced a new version of the W6 model at the 2021 Tianjin Motor Show.

Weltmeister is a sub-brand of the Chinese automaker WM Motor. The brand has made clear intentions to enter the Southeast Asian market, particularly Vietnam. Upon their arrival, Weltmeister can become a competitor of VinFast in the electric vehicle segment.

During the Tianjin Motor Show 2021 currently taking place in China, Weltmeister brings about a new version of the W6 mid-sized SUV. The Weltmeister W6 is the commercial version of the Evolve Concept debuted at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. It wasn’t until early this year that this SUV began mass production.

Weltmeister W6 has specific dimensions of 4,802 x 1,839 x 1,710 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,715 mm. Despite its large size, this Chinese model is only equipped with a 5-seater interior.

Outside, the model has applies the “aerospace technology” design language. More specifically, this model is designed with inspiration from spaceships.

At the front of the car, W6 is equipped with a unique M-shaped light cluster. In particular, the daytime naviagtional LED strip connects with the Weltmeister brand logo in the middle and extends down the front bumper. This SUV does not have a grille as it is an electric car. Instead, the car only has a trapezoidal air cavity on the front bumper, surrounded by chrome braces.

On the sides, Weltmeister W6 has a fairly simple and smooth design with black columns, creating a “floating roof” effect. In addition, the door handles pop up and down, contributing to a coefficient of air resistance of 0.3 Cd.

Behind the Weltmeister W6 appears a slender and interconnected taillight cluster, creating a similarity to the lights at the front. Finally, the roof spoiler integrated with overhead brake light and silver paneling underneath the rear bumper.

Stepping inside Weltmeister W6, the interior space is designed to be as minimalist as the exterior. In return, the car is equipped with a digital dashboard that has a 12.3-inch Full LCD screen, located in the same block with a large infotainment screen. Below the central air conditioning vents, a second touchscreen is available.

In the new version, Weltmeister W6 is significantly upgraded in terms of technology. Accordingly, this SUV model is added with features for an automatic parking system that does not require the driver to sit in the car. This system can avoid collision with poles and obstacles during parking.

In addition, the voice command feature has been optimized. Drivers can now use commands to adjust the windshield wipers, headlights, interior lights, and rearview mirrors. In particular, the system can simultaneously perform 3 commands from the driver, such as opening the sunroof, turning on the wipers, and opening the windows.

The source of power for the Weltmeister W6 is a permanent magnet electric motor with a maximum capacity of 214 horsepower and maximum torque of 225 Nm. Depending on the type of battery included, the vehicle can run for 520 km or 620 km after every full charge.

In the Chinese market, Weltmeister W6 is currently being sold with prices ranging from 169,800 – 259,800 yuan (about 594 – 909 million VND).
