The small-sized electric scooter for EU markets, assembled in Vietnam, has an operational range of 37 km with lithium-ion battery.

Yamaha’s first Neo’s electric scooter is developed for the European market. Previously, Neo’s name was given to the line of scooters with internal combustion engines. Neo’s electric scooter is designed for the European AM license class with a capacity of less than 3.35 horsepower, equivalent to a 50cc scooter model, suitable for short trips in the inner city.

The vehicle is equipped with a 2.5 kW electric motor, a 50.4V/19.2Ah lithium-ion battery weighing 8 kg, for a range of 37 km per full charge. The battery can be removed and placed under the saddle. The storage compartment under the seat has a capacity of 27 liters. Customers also have the option to install two batteries, increasing the operating range. The bike is equipped with an electric charger that comes with a charging time of about 8 hours.

Yamaha’s new electric scooter has two driving modes, including Standard and Eco. Running in Standard mode, power reaches 2.7 horsepower with a maximum speed of 40 km/h. Switching to Eco, the power drops to 2.1 horsepower with a maximum speed of 35 km/h, for a range of 38.5 km.

Neo’s is based on the traditional scooter platform, wide legroom, 13-inch wheels, LED lights. The vehicle supports connection with the Yamaha MyRide application, allowing display of battery capacity, charging status, vehicle location, and many other information.

Yamaha said that Neo’s is manufactured in Vietnam and exported to the European market. The bike is sold with two color options, black and white. In the UK, Yamaha Neo’s price is equivalent to 3,400 USD.
