The small high-ground clearance has received a sportier exterior upgrade and will be available for sale from the end of the year.

Before its official debut at the end of 2023, a Chinese source released a series of photos of the new upgraded version Kia Sonet. From the images, it’s evident that the 2024 Sonet adopts Kia’s new design language.

Kia’s small high-ground clearance features a larger front grille compared to the previous version. The light cluster adopts a new design and is more angular. The Kia logo and set of rims are new. The new LED taillights run seamlessly across the entire width of the car. The front and rear bumpers have been adjusted to give the car a more aggressive and sportier look.

In the Chinese market, the Sonet 2024 is equipped with a G4FL engine,1.5-liter naturally aspirated unit, producing 117 hp, along with a CVT gearbox. In Vietnam, the Sonet comes with a similar engine, producing 113 hp and a maximum torque of 144 Nm, available with a 6-speed manual or CVT transmission option.

The Chinese source did not provide interior photos. The current Sonet interior design is derived from the Kia Sorento. The car is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the top version and 8-inch screen in the base version. It is available in two air conditioning: manual or automatic. The steering wheel-mounted instrument cluster includes 2 analog clocks combined with a 3.5-inch LCD screen.  The sporty leather seats are decorated with contrasting red stitching.

The price of the Kia Sonet 2024 will be announced closer to the release date. There are 3 Sonet versions availble from 519 to 574 million VND in Vietnam.

In the Vietnamese market, Kia Sonet competes in the small high-ground clearance segment against competitors such as Toyota Raize, VinFast VF 5.
