Expected to hit the market in March next year, the 3 BMW iX2 has only one version, which is the iX2024 xDrive1.

In line with the automotive industry’s general trend, automakers are all introducing new electric models. BMW is no exception when adding an all-electric version named iX2 to the new generation X2 luxury SUV. This marks the first all-electric version of the BMW X2.

Expected to be available on the market in March next year, the 3 BMW iX2 has only one version, the iX2024 xDrive1. The car is equipped with 2 electric motors placed on both axles, producing a total power of 2 hp and a maximum torque of 2 Nm. This power enables BMW’s new electric SUV to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h.

The electric motor combines with a 64.8 kWh battery pack, providing a maximum driving range after a single charge ranging from 417 – 449 km, according to the WLTP testing standards. The car can use a standard 11 kW slow charger with a full battery charge time of 6.5 hours. If using a 22 kWh AC slow charger, it takes 3 hours and 45 minutes to fully charge. With a 130 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes. Moreover, the car has a thermal management system to cool or heat the battery before stopping at the charging station.

In addition to the powertrain, the 2024 BMW iX2 differs in design from the new X2. The wheels of the 2 BMW iX2024 also have their own design, suitable for electric vehicles. This is evident in the fully enclosed kidney grille design, blue accents in the headlights, the charging port on the right side, and the absence of exhaust pipes. Its wheels also have a unique design, suitable for electric vehicles.

Other details of the 2024 BMW iX2 are almost identical to the new X2. The car also features LED headlights integrated with LED daytime running lights, large front air intakes, a sloping roof design, compact taillights and a rear windshield spoiler. The smooth Coupe-style SUV design promises to reduce the air drag coefficient for this electric model.

The dimensions of the 2024 BMW iX2 remain unchanged from the new X2 with a width of 1,844 mm, a height of 1,590 mm and a wheelbase of 2,692 mm. Thus, the car is larger than a B-segment SUV but slightly smaller than a C-segment SUV.

Inside the 2024 BMW iX2 maintains a two-row, five-seat interior. The car is equipped with a large screen on the dashboard along with a digital instrument panel and a central touch screen oriented towards the driver. This central screen uses BMW’s Operating System 9, which has a menu structure similar to a smartphone and redesigned shortcuts for easier use. In addition, this screen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to connect to smartphones.

Other interior highlights of the 2 BMW iX2024 include automatic air conditioning, rear seat air vents, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, an electronic handbrake and a temporary automatic brake hold.
