Honda records daily sales of 5,500 motorbikes to Vietnamese consumers

29 May 2022

In the fiscal year 2022, Honda Vietnam has sold over 2 million motorbikes in the Vietnamese market, accounting for 80% of the Vietnamese motorcycle market share.

Honda Vietnam has just announced its business results for fiscal year 2022 in the motorcycle segment with total sales of over 2 million vehicles. Thus, sales of Honda motorcycles in the fiscal year 2022 decreased by 2.7% compared to 2021.

The decrease in sales of Honda motorcycles is expected due to the impact of Covid-19 outbreaks. However, Honda Vietnam motorcycle sales still account for about 80% of Vietnam’s motorcycle market share, +2% compared to fiscal year 2021. Contributing the most to the brand’s motorcycle sales are still familiar names such as: Vision, Wave Alpha, Air Blade, or Lead.

In 2022, Honda Vietnam have introduced 18 models. Of which, 7 models and new versions of motorbikes are launched in the Vietnamese market.

In the mass segment, Honda Vietnam has introduced the new SH 350i and Honda Lead 125. In which, SH 350i is a new generation of scooters born to replace the old imported SH 300i models. It is noteworthy that the Honda SH 350i has now been assembled and manufactured in the country, giving it an extremely attractive price aside from the powerful engine and modern utility equipment. With the Lead 125cc, the new version of this wide-trunk scooter model is upgraded to the latest eSP+ 4-valve engine, providing more impressive performance.

In the small clutch segment, Honda has given Vietnamese users more choices of small sportbikes thanks to the all-new CBR150R model imported from Indonesia. In addition, the Winner X is also updated with a new sporty version, slim lights, newly designed exhaust pipes and gauges, adding Smart Key, USB charging port, and ABS.

The remaining 3 models are Africa Twin, Gold Wing, and Rebel 1100 in the large displacement motorcycle segment. At the end of May 2021, Honda Vietnam officially launched the Africa Twin model with the Adventure Touring design that is capable of multi-terrain and long-distance travel. In addition, the Japanese automaker also introduced a new version for the “king of the road” Gold Wing with an upgrade in the speaker system and storage capacity. Finally, Rebel 1100 has a traditional Bobber design.

After concluding the fiscal year 2022, Honda has also set a target for fiscal year 2023, starting from April 2022 to March 2023. Accordingly, Honda is committed to leading the motorcycle industry to promote accelerating market recovery after Covid-19, increasing the whole export of motorcycles, investing and developing domestic sports activities and other social contribution activities.
