From January to December 2022, Honda Vietnam sold a total of 2,407,907 motorcycles to the market, up by 20.9% over the same period last year, reaching a market share of 80.7%.
Honda Vietnam has announced business results in the motorcycle segment from January to the end of December 2022. In 2022, Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the economy in general and Honda’s motorcycle market, affecting sales. However, after the pandemic was controlled, the supply of spare parts was restored, the number of Honda motorcycles sold has grown significantly.
From January to December 2022, cumulative sales of Honda motorcycles reached 2,407,907 units, up by 20.9% over the same period 2021, accounting for 80.7% of the market share. Specifically, Honda’s motorcycle business results in 2022 are as follows:

In the cub segment, Honda Wave Alpha is still the best-selling model in December 2022 with 47,120 vehicles, accounting for 18.4% of total motorcycle sales. At the same time, this is also the best-selling cub model in 2022 with 491,232 vehicles, accounting for 20.4% of Honda’s total motorcycle sales.
In the scooter segment, Honda Vision took the lead in December 2022 with 66,394 vehicles. This result accounted for 25.9% of Honda Vietnam’s total motorcycle sales in December. Although the supply of components was interrupted for a while, after this situation was restored, Honda Vision quickly recovered. In the whole 2022, 538,876 Honda Vision units were delivered to customers, accounting for 22.4% of the company’s total motorcycle sales.
In the clutch segment, Winner X achieved sales of 11,856 units, accounting for 4.6% of Honda Vietnam’s total motorcycle sales in the past month. Winner X is also Honda’s best-selling clutch model with sales of 117,813 units in 2022, accounting for 4.9% of its total motorcycle sales.
Export volume of CBUs in December 2022 reached 21,570 vehicles, up by 76.3% over the same period last year. Accumulated in 2022, there were 215,961 motorbikes of Honda Vietnam exported, up by 1.2% over the same period of 2021.
Also in 2022, in the mass motorbike category (capacity under 350 cc), Honda launched 10 models with many improvements. The most prominent of these are 3 models of Honda Air Blade 160/125 and Honda Vario 160 with changed design, equipped with a new eSP + 4-valve engine to help improve capacity and save fuel.
For large displacement vehicles (capacity over 350 cc), the total retail sales of HEADs reached 1,547 vehicles. This is an impressive number for this segment in Vietnam, helping Honda affirm its position in the domestic market.
