Vietnam consumes the second most Honda motorcycles worldwide

With 506,000 units sold in the first quarter of fiscal year 2024, Vietnam ranks 2nd among the world’s largest consumers of Honda motorcycles.

Honda recently announced its business results for the first quarter of financial year 2024 (April to July 2023, abbreviated as FY2024), according to which the motorcycle business recorded good growth figures.

A total of 4,473,000 Honda motorcycles were sold globally with total sales of 143.5 billion yen in the first quarter of FY2024, up 5.2 percent from the same period last year.

India is the largest sales market for Honda with a total of 952,000 vehicles sold in the first quarter of FY2024 in the country. Vietnam is Honda’s 2nd largest market with 506,000 units sold. This was followed by Thailand (395,000 units), Brazil (271,000 units).

In addition to key markets, Honda also increased sales in Western countries with about 120,000 motorcycles sold in North America, up 10,000 units compared to the same period last year. The European market also consumed 119,000 Honda motorcycles.

Honda has divided sales into five regions including Japan, North America, Europe, Asia and others. In first quarter of 2024, Honda sold 58,000 motorcycles in Japan, 2,000 more than in first quarter of 2023. In North America, Honda sold 120,000 vehicles, which is 10,000 more than in first quarter of 2023. Europe saw an impressive sales increase in Q1 2024 with 119,000 units, which is 3,800 units higher than the 81,000 units sold in the first quarter of 2023.
