In June 2023, Suzuki Vietnam announced the discontinuation of several motorcycle models, including the GSX-S150, GSX-R150, Impulse 125, and Intruder 150. As a result, Suzuki dealers in Vietnam are now only distributing three remaining models, which are the company’s inventory in the domestic market.

To stimulate consumer demand, Suzuki has implemented attractive discount programs for the remaining models. The Satria F150 and Raider R150 models are being offered with discounts of up to 5 million VND on select color options. The Burgman Street model is still eligible for a registration fee support program of 2 million VND until June 30.

It is worth noting that many Suzuki dealers in the northern region do not have ready-made vehicles available for display. Some dealers only place orders when requested by customers. In contrast, some dealers in the southern region still have cars on display in their showrooms. This limited availability of Suzuki models indicates the reduced quantity of inventory.

According to a sales consultant in the Soc Son area of Hanoi, the lack of cars on display is due to the discounted prices of the remaining Suzuki models, which makes it challenging to compete with other competitors. Therefore, the dealership only imports cars when a customer places an order.

Suzuki’s decision to discontinue certain models in Vietnam reflects the company’s strategic shift away from focusing heavily on the motorcycle field. By discontinuing these models, Suzuki can now concentrate its efforts on the automotive sector, particularly the truck segment.
